What happens after 49-0.

On September 12th in front of not even half of the subscribers to his previous fight, Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather the self proclaimed ‘Best Ever‘ will be entering the ring for the last time as a professional boxer.

So that’s the story he is selling anyway.

Matching the record of Rocky Marciano was an obvious target for the most well paid sports person on the planet.

But surely to surpass the record and make even more money is the real aim?

He calls the MGM Grand Casino where he has been exclusively fighting for quite a while now ‘Mayweather Gets Money‘.

So whilst the MGM is building a bigger and better state of the art Stadium to hd events such as boxing matches is Floyd really not going to be fighting in that arena?

When Manny Pacquiao is still desperate for a rematch and it’s a golden opportunity to make even more money is Floyd really going to bow out against Andre Berto who has lost 3 of his last 6 fights and isn’t considered a worthy opponent by just about everyone involved in boxing?

I just can’t see it.

Floyd has only one fight left on his multi million dollar contract with Showtime Sports and as far as many are concerned Mayweather vs Berto is just a relatively risk free way to finish out that contract leaving Floyd a free agent.

I fully expect Floyd to then get heavily involved in a business deal with Al Haymon where he will get a bigger cut of his future PPV sales and will fight at least 2 or 3 more fights including a Manny Pacquiao rematch in which he will have an even bigger percentage of the purse split as well as whatever agreement he makes will Al Haymon.

I think instead of fighting GGG we will see the real peak of MMM. Mayweather Making Money.

The money team general will be looking at 2 or 3 highly marketable opponents where he can make maximum money. I wouldn’t disregard Amir Khan as a prospect for one of these fights as he has a huge following across several countries.

So whether you are watching live on PPV etc or by other means don’t believe the hype.

Floyd Mayweather will not be retiring after this fight!
